The Pogun project is an attempt to recreate the classical gaming genre with a modernized twist while still retaining the addictive and fun quality. As proposed in the design documentation, Pogun is a 2.5 dimensional game which combines the 1820’s designed pogo stick into a rocket powered weapon. Game play is simple, yet challenging; where the sole aim is to gain the greatest amount of points through destroying your opponent.
The demo/prototype developed implements the first phase of the project, which includes 2 completed, playable levels and characters. Pogun was built as a total conversion of the Unreal Tournament 2004 engine which involved creating custom models, textures, animations, scripts and interaction.
